forget him, it is probably just the infatuation that we all have, I had this boyfriend of 2 years and when he broke up with me I loved him for 5 years, as it progressed I felt less and less about him and finally poof it was gone. It will go away, don't think about him (I know easier said that done) and go do other things to distract yourself, make him wish he had stayed with you and in the process you will find someone new. If he dumped you, then obviosly you should just forget him. It will be hard, but if he doens't like you back anymore, you can't make him like you. But if he is a nice guy and does decide to go back out with you, make sure it's not out of pity. It sounds like you're better off without this loser.

Why would you want someone who does not want you? Don't you think you deserve more out of life. Why tie your life up trying to make someone love you. He is not the only man in town, go and find a friend, take if slow, so you can get to know him. Go out and have some fun!
