well I believed in my own version of god, then I met the real God through Jesus and found He is who he says he is in the Bible, as hard as it is to take sometimes! He is not going to be what I wanted him to be. some people have not opened their eyes and hearts to Him so they can't see him

Why do some people believe in love and others don't?
Why do some people believe in justice and others don't?
Why do some people believe in meaning and others don't?
We live in a flawed world- some people have rejected God. We are also born spiritually dead- often people think they have a clue spiritually but in reality we need to be born again of God. Even if we don't believe in God we still appreciate his creation, we still enjoy his gifts of food friendship, sex etc. So basically we're like spoilt kids that have run away from our parents and now pretend they dont exist.
And we all have consciences that commend us for doing good and make us feel guilty for doing stuff God doesn't like.
So basically I don't know!
but theres some thoughts!

Some people are unable to believe in something for which there is no proof. This is due to either extreme ignorance or just plain small mindedness!
I'm not saying for sure there is "a god" but most people argue using the lack of proof or by using contradicting evidence, eg the theory of evolution.
I say think of the bigger picture and if you do, you cannot say for sure that there is no god.

I think that people are finding it very hard to believe in a God when you only have to look at the world we live in today. Then again wasn't it the church who burned thousands of people at the stake in the middle ages. Some people have to believe in religion that is just the way they live they use it as a path to follow.
I am sorry to say that although i do believe in a higher life form I tend to think that " God " was just a visitor that was passing across the universe not so much the great creator, just helped us to get started the rest of our journey is up to us.

Some people see through the concept and realise there is no god. Belief in god (any god) is just so limiting.
Others just prefer to believe what they're told.

Because they do not want the help that God gives to the rest of us that believe in God to help them to get along with their neighbors and even to get help with everyday matters like talking to people, relationships, and just having God to talk to when they are down and no one will listen to them ever.

I think it is largely due to upbringing and the company we keep. However, Christian Scripture states that some are predestined to believe, and others aren't. There are many things in our faith that can't be understood; for instance, if the foregoing is true, then what is the point of evangelism, but Jesus expects that from his followers. That is what "faith" is about, namely believing what we can't understand.

Cos they don't have the Faith or desire to find out for themselves whether God actually does live. This takes study of the scriptures, fasting and prayer and confirmation by the Holy Ghost that this He does live. For some that is just all too much.
