Only if you are willing to let them live there for free. Otherwise, no, business and family don't mix. It's the same principal as lending money to family, don't ever expect it back. Yes.. it should be paid back but it won't be... so don't expect it.

I think it is a good idea simply because there's a wall between you and them-but they are close to you should you need them or just want to be around them. If they and you understand that there will times when things don't go right and are willing to talk about it or just willing to give each other space then I'm all for it. I am living with my daughter and her family and I think if we were in separate homes even if it's a wall that separate them from me I would enjoy it. You need your privacy too.

It is generally a bad idea. You, as the mother, need to give your daughter and her family space. Next door isn't enough space. You might be stuck paying all the bills, since you're the mom, they might not feel that they need to pay you as they would feel obligated to pay an unrelated landlord. Unless you all are well above average in tolerance, education, and finances, it is doomed for failure and heartbreak. Good Luck

I couldn't do it. I love my mother to death, but we butt heads when we spend two days togethor. It could be that I'm only eighteen. I have no idea. But, you two probably have a great relationship, otherwise you wouldn't be thinking about it. So, I say go ahead.

Depends on your daughter and how well you get alone, and also what you are expecting for payment etc.
Best thing to do, is to discuss this with her.
