Mariner's Church--can anyone tell me about the Mariner's Church?

I am not familiar with this church and I would like to know more about it. Thank you.

There is a beautiful little stone church on the waterfront in Detroit that is called the Mariner's Church. It was originally built to minister to the spiritual needs of the Great Lakes sailors and dockworkers.

I believe it is properly known as the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral but I've never heard it called anything but the Mariner's Church. I used to work around the corner.
