Since Christians (including Catholics) believe that Jesus Christ is God there is no breaking of the Commandment.
With love in Christ.

The cvommandment means that you should put NOTHING above God. God must recieve the highest of your respect and praise. Nevertheless, Jesus gives all praise to the Father and is given the right to judge by the father. The reason he says that no one comes to the father but through him, is because we wouldn't be allowed to commune with God if it weren't for the act that Christ would perform follwoing that statement-- the death and ressurection.
I partly agree with you about Catholic members asking the saints to pray for them. In some more devout cultures, you will even see the people of a city worshiping the statue of a saint and claiming that it performed some kind of Miracle. That is clearly against the ten commandments.
But in the end, it's none of our business what people do and don't do. We are to present them with the truth, show them the way and let them make the decision. After that it's up to them. We are not to judge anyone or call anyone out on their sins. That's not our place. As for Jesus breaking a commandment, I don't think so. Everything Jesus said had a hidden message or a strange connection. Since he was sent by the Father, allowed to take the wages of sin for everyone else, and then allowed by the Father to defeat death, it is the Father who puts Jesus between Him and Us.

No, Jesus is God. And unless you are Catholic, don't tell me what Catholics believe. We do not believe that prayer "must be directed through and intermediary"! The Catholic Church strongly encourages direct conversation (prayer) with God. And what does Psalm 145 have to do with that? Yes, God is nearer to all who call unto Him. It say anything about it being a totally private prayer. What about praying with others?
Good job Fenian1916 and *desiree*! And whoever said that Catholics worship statues of saints--or any statues for that matter--should take a look at the CCC (Catechism of the Catholic Church)

Based on some of the things you have said and the kinds of people that support you, I think you are Jewish. And, what that means is simply: you are antagonistic toward Christ, or anti-Christ, no matter what anyone says to you. Nevertheless, I'll attempt to explain this...in a cursory fashion. However, are you open to the notion that you are wrong and don't know jack about anything when it comes to the Lord?
Why did those jews offer blood sacrifice anyway? Why was it commanded? Why did God test Abraham with his "ONLY BEGOTTON SON, THE SON OF PROMISE ISSAC?" Those jews offered blood only because it was looking forward toward the blood that would be shed on the cross. God did this to them, without explaining it to them. Some knew. Moses knew, the prophets knew...but the bulk of the Jewish race, never did know this. God does not pick after the flesh. God picks based on the inner man, not the outter man. Yet, for thousands of years, God did pick after the flesh: which is against God's own heart. God has His wisdom and knows what He is doing. Why did God test Abraham to give his only son Issac via sacrifice? BEcause God would do that same thing: GIVE HIS SON as a Sacrifice!!!
Who was Jesus? Jesus is God Almightly as a man. God is able to divide Himself and remain One! Before man was even made, God became a man, and all things were made through the man. Not an ordinary man! Why? This is God's morality. God goes to our level. Jesus was a part of God, like a finger off the hand. God should not be put in a box. Of all the gods out there, the one that comes as a man, is the Real One. He comes to our level and walked as we do.
Stop and think, doesn't it make sense that the only people to have exclusive rights on God, for thousands of years, suddenly lose it all-- and now, all others are permitted in? Do you not see God's mind here? God does NOT pick after the flesh.
To bow down to Jesus is to bown down to God. Same person.
You simply do not understand what you are saying. You think you do. But you don't.

Yet as the New Testament says, "there is One God and One mediator between God and Men, ... Christ Jesus".
N o, Jesus did not and does not break any of God's Commandments.
There is ONE God, Who has revealed Himself as three "Persons". Jesus, the Son, is the One Who made Atonement on the Cross, Once for all time; once for all people; and offers that Salvation as a free gift to those who will accept it.
Since it is ONE God, then coming through Jesus the Son is NOT putting anyone before God. He is God!!
As for needing a intermediary, not a requirement. People can intercede for us; and pray with us. But there is ONE God, and only ONE Mediator between God and men ... even Jesus who was God and became Incarnate as Man. He made Atonement for us and now lives to mater intercession for us.
Hallelujah.

I think if someone might feel that if they don't understand who Jesus is. Remember the pharasees and scribes condemed Jesus, because they were blind to what was happening and in a sense they help fullfill prophecy.
You shall have no other gods BEFORE ME - I feel it means just that, you shall not worship, charish or behold any thing higher than GOD. He is to be first on your mind, in your actions and in your heart.
Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins, his death SPLIT the curtain between us and God. In another words we can go directly to God because of the death and RESURRECTION of Jesus.
If you feel you need to go thru confession to help guide you in your prayer or what ever that is up to you. But God does have an open door policy because of the death and RESURRECTION of Jesus. I see nothing wrong with going to a priest and confessing your sins, but just remember it is just that confessing. That your forgiveness is from God and I would hope that the priest understands that to. It is good to confess your sins, people do it to other people too. Not just priest, but confession to God in the sight of others, is a good thing. The bible says to confess your sins to others. If Catholic belief is that is the only way then the restrict what God can do for them. They leave their lives and forgiveness in the hands of man, not a choice I would want.
"God was near to all who called upon him" - no doubt that is why he had to come thru his son to this world and take on sin to allow us to have forgiveness and be truly free to be with him. Because our sin was what seperated us from God.
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth". This is Jesus and if you really believe this then you know that Jesus is the full grace and truth of God. There fore if he is full grace and truth then he would not lie when he said "No man cometh unto the Father but by me". Because thru him we are able to access the Father (God).

catholics believe it is beneficial for a prayer to be directed by a holy man, we know it is important to always pray to god directly. Jesus instituted the catholic church so whether or not you believe the universal teachings of the church Jesus/god instituted is up to you. Jesus is god and taught the teachings of god, therefore Jesus could not teach against truth. i would choose to follow his word than to make your own personal opinion guide you. so no Jesus didn't break the commandment and you can pick any verse to make your point, but only when you take both old and new testament in context will you know truth.

I don't really care what the catholics believe. Their religion is not based on Bible truths. Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh. He is God, plain and simple. There is no trinity. As the mediator, He is God, and man. The eternal spirit dwelling in a human body.

God put humans first infront of animals and nature because He loves us this much. He even made us more important than the angles. God is the Way. You can only go through Him. That is not breaking the 10 commandments

No, Catholics do not believe that prayer must be directed through an intermediary. The Catholic Mass is full of prayers directly to teh Father and the Son.
Yes, we pray to mary and the saints to ask them to pray for us and with us as we pray to God.
The concept of confessing one's sins to a priest comes from Jesus Himself when He gave His disciples the authority and power to forgive sins:
Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
-- John 20: 21 - 23
