A. Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28).

B. Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6).

C. Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4)

D. Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world -- on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9).

Christians counter that Jesus will fulfill these in the Second Coming, but Jewish sources show that the Messiah will fulfill the prophecies outright, and no concept of a second coming exists.

It doesn't matter. According to the Christians, that's the half of 'god's word' that everyone is supposed to disregard.

I'm a Christian.

Yes, I'll also tell you that Jesus has yet to fulfill the prophecies you mention. But there are so many others that He has fulfilled.
That Messiah would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2 / Luke 2); be called out of Egypt (Hosea 11:1 / Matt. 2:15); be a Nazarene (Is. 11:1 / Luke 2:19-21); he shall teach the people in parables, not a bone of him would be broken, they shall look upon him whom they have pierced, the blind shall see, the lame shall walk...and on and on.

C u r r e n t Jewish sources proclaim one Messiah.
Jewish scholars during the time of Christ, however, generally taught of two Messiahs. As they interpretted the scriptures they could not reconcile the promises you cite with those of a suffering servant, as in Isaiah 52 & 53, for example.

So their teachings revealed one suffering Messiah, and one victorious one at another time.

Due to the socio-political climate of the time, Jesus was rejected by the Jews because they desparately wanted the victorious Messiah to bring peace to the land due to the Roman occupation of Israel.

Christians believe that the suffering servant Jesus won a huge spiritual victory for mankind, and when He returns, will usher in a millenium of peace. We believe Him to be both the suffering servant and the victorious king.

The best is yet to come !

Hypothesis:the new testament was contrived to fulfill some of the prophecies of the Old Testament.
Makes Jesus look more impressive than the Jewish folk figures.

No. God has fulfilled all of the prophecies except one now. That is the Found at Ezek38:14-29 ,Danial 2:44, Ezek38:23.
The end is not here yet.
God will put it into the hearts of man to end False religion and then The other prophecy of Isiaha 2:4 shall be fulfilled.
You kind of got it but theres just so much more. the old and new testament entertwines so much that One cannot get the whole trueth without putting it all together.

Exactly... Yehoshua bin Yosef al Nazareth was not "THE" messiah... He was a man that wanted people to become better jews.. He didn't want people to worship as G-d.. He wanted people to hear his teachings and take them to heart.. I feel if he saw what has become of "organized" Christianity, he would be very disappointed..

He knew how to reach people on a personal and spiritual level.. He said he was "the son of G-d", but every one is a child of G-d.. He was a male.. That made him a son.. "A son of G-d".. The things put forth nowadays as what Yehoshua said cannot be trusted to be from his lips.. It's all a game of operator..

Please research "The Jesus Seminars"..

From a Jewish stand point they are correct because they do not belive that Yeshua is the messiah.

Lets take a look at what prophecies Yeshua fulfilled to prove he is the messiah. Please read this to support my point.

http://www.konig.org/messianic.htm

"As we stated earlier, the purpose of the miracles of Jesus was to authenticate to the nation Israel the person and message of the Messiah. Within Judaism were also exorcists who cast out demons (v. 27). But in Jewish exorcism, one had to communicate with a demon in order to find out its name, and then use that name to cast out the demon. But in Matthew 12, where the demon caused the person to become dumb, Jewish exorcism was of no avail. Communication with the demon was rendered impossible. But Jewish theology taught that when the Messiah came, He would be able to cast out even that kind of demon.

Indeed, in Matthew 12:22, Christ was able to exorcise even that kind of demon. In verse 23, this caused the people to begin asking the question, "Can Jesus really be the Messiah?" This was one of the key purposes of this miracle, that they might see that He was indeed the Son of David." (1)

Since your source is the Bible I am proving my point with scripture. Since Yeshua fulfilled the prophecies that proved he was the messiah, then the Christians would be correct in saying that the prophecies you mentioned will be fulfilled during his second coming.

I'm earnestly waiting for prochecies to be fulfilled. Most of them are already towards being fulfilled. It is now at the door.

Also the Jewish names in Genesis have meanings and prohecy the coming of Jesus. It means this: Man is appointed mortal sorrow but the blessed God shall come down preaching that his death shall bring the despairing rest.

Of course the Jews would have no notion of a second coming, they are not the ones whose plan it is. They would of course say that the Messiah would fulfill these prophecies outright as it elevates their own importance and standing. In other words they believe that because it validates their own "righteousness" and not that of God's.

Nope, all the jews are still scattered around the world.. Jesus failed, he wasn't a good jew ya know, he broke the sabbath, and then offered this cop out " The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath" Breaking the sabbath in those days was a crime punishable by death. Jesus was a sinner in jewish eyes...

GobleyGook,
He said what He came for. And you don't believe it. I guess you aren't doing what you come here for very good. Haven't you read Luke?

Is it okay for you to claim that everyone else is brainwashed when you don't either know the Gospel of Luke, or don't retain any memory of it?

The information that you show on your profile shows that you are on a task, but you don't even know the Gospel of Luke? What's wrong with you?

How can a person so ignorant or suffering from memory loss think that she can help people out of their brainwashing? Are you mental?
