If a Muslim woman was wearing a veil and was dealing with someone who was hard of hearing and needed to lip read the person they where talking to, would she be expected to take off her veil?

If not, how would she deal with this situation?

She can always write it to him!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way, Islam did not order women to cover their faces, but it is a kind of tradition in Saudi Arabia , God orders women to cover their faces only if the woman is extremely gorgeous and would not like her face to be seen by men

I studied Islam at University and for the greater part of my life have been in the company of Muslims. It is a personal choice, if a woman wants to wear the niqab and if you don't believe me, I have met Muslim men who didn't want their wives to wear it. But, I'm also a trained language teacher and I have often said to students, 'Look at my lips. See the sound I am making.' This is especially important when teaching people who do not have certain sounds in their native language. For this reason, I would say that anyone teaching languages should be aware of this very important teaching aid.
When I lived in Blackburn between 1966 and 1969 the Muslims were mainly Gujuratis from India and the women wore saris and covered their heads.
I doubt if Barbara Castle (the then MP for Blackburn) would have made such insensitive remarks as Jack Straw made. His remarks weren't extreme, he expressed a wish, but he should have known that given the present climate in the UK, his words would be twisted by both the militant Muslim faction and the militant 'keep Britain white faction.' And I'm sorry if I have mixed religion with race - but I don't think there are any true Christians left in the UK.

probably complain to someone that she has been given this problem because she is muslim, and then claim it was a deliberate attempt to belittle islam . it is claimed that they do not have a problem with communication due to the veil. TRUE. the reason why they don't have a problem, is because they can see your face. Ignorance ????
i would like to add that most Muslim's do not wish to wear this unsightly dress, and most muslim men are annoyed at jack straw because it undermines the male Muslim's authority in the home!!!!

dont return with "your a muslim hater", it doesn't wash. i have friends that are muslim and live in tehran!! and are irani!!
beats me how muslims can follow the teaching of a paedophile

well, my friend.. am a Muslim and the same situation is facing me everyday... actually this is a tradition and has nothing to do with the religion... and to be honest....Muslims are always applying the rules in everywhere they live... but i don't know what happens these days... i think if they were have the opportunity to be milted with the surrounding community they might be get along instead of being opposites...

If she was talking to a female, it's ok, she doesn't need the veil.

if it was a male, it's a different case:
1. Muslim women are not allowed to talk to strangers (men) to chat or something like that, but it's ok if he or she was asking for directions and stuff like that.

2nd there's an invention called "paper and pencil" she could use it to write to him.

3rd she can raise her voice a little bit.

hope this answers the question in your mind.

It never ceases to amaze me how many so called "believers" are quite prepared to kill, when all people are supposedly created by the one God.
