I received this email a couple of days ago, I think it has a really good perspective

IF SOMEONE HAD A GUN HELD IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE AND ASKED YOU IF YOU BELIEVED IN GOD, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
SAY NO AND FEEL ASHAMED THE REST OF YOUR LIFE? OR SAY YES, I DO, AND DIE STANDING UP FOR GOD? IF YOU'D SAY NO, THEN DELETE THIS E-MAIL. IF YOU WOULD SAY YES, PASS THIS ON.

Funny, isn't it?

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the God says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the God says. (Or is it scary?)

Funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God).

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.

Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me. (Are you thinking?)

Why would I feel ashamed for saying no? The other person should feel ashamed for pointing a gun at my head.

The world's going to hell because everyone tries to hurt everyone else. Even those that are religious try to force those that aren't to believe as they do. I don't believe what the papers say. If you haven't realized that the papers will lie through their teeth to sell copies, you're a fool. I don't believe in heaven so why would I want to get into it? I don't follow Satan because Satan doesn't exist anymore than the Christian god does.

Try again. You aren't posting facts, your ignoring facts.

That's pretty cool - I think I'll print it & share it w/ my friends. You've got some good points.
I've always wondered. If I were in that position, with a gun against my head and I said yes, I believed in God, maybe that would be powerful enough to make them think twice abt shooting me? It just might.

I don't think this has a good perspective - if anyone had a gun in front of their face, they'd say WHATEVER THEY THOUGHT THE GUNMAN wanted to hear!!! Unless they are suicidal. I'm agnostic, I don't trash god, and I don't wonder why the world is going to hell. I have my opinions on why the world is going to hell, and they are too numerous to state here.

God "says" stuff? That's news to me. I've never met God, and I've never had God call me or email me etc. When god does contact me, and has logical reasons for his/her statements, and the statements are backed up by research, I'll totally believe god.

I am on the same page my friend. God is utmost, God is love, God is my light and delight. We need the light ~ & I fear there r very few people like us who can understand the truth of God. But that's ok ~ He knows we try and likewise He knows who His true followers are. But I know what u mean, it's almost taboo to be such a faithful believer now a days, but to steadfastly hold to what is most honorable and good is the only thing in life to accomplish. But I actually did answer that question and said I would never renounce GOD. But I think I also wrote saying isn't doing, I suppose I am smart enough to know that what u will REALLY do in a crisis situation is very different from doing it. But I'd like to think I would never, as my faith is in Him, & if I die w/ honor I get to go to paradise.

But did u see after that ~ he asked what would u do if they were pointing the gun at someone u loved not yourself, would u still say it? Or renounce Him? I couldn't answer that one, but I prayed it would never happen. I would have to kill myself, and then I'd be in trouble.

Funny how you're wasting my time with this. Funny how I don't care. Funny how if I recieved it, I would send it to all my atheist friends so we could have a good laugh at it. Funny how I believe the newspaper because it reports what's going on in the world. Funny how I don't belive in the bible fairy tale. Funny how I am a rational intelligent person.

Or did you mean "funny ironic" and not "funny ha-ha"?

What I think is funny is that you assume I'll need someone to point at me with a gun to say I don't love god. Look: "I do not love god". And nobody is holding a gun to my head right now. I would have deleted that mail.

What is it with christians that they so love the idea of putting a gun in someones face and challenging their beliefs? They've been doing it for centuries on every continent except Antarctica.

I'd say YES, because maybe even if I say NO the guy will kill me too. I wouldn't take a chance to say NO with the fear that if the guy kills me after I say NO without having the chance to ask God for forgiveness I'd go straight to HELL.
You never know what's in somebody's mind.

In my case, it was the otherway around. A so-called christian put a gun to my face and asked if I believed in God now. I calmly reached up, corrected his aim, and told him I didn't believe in any god that would be so weak as to be contained in a bit of lead and copper. He walked away in confusion.

Unfortunately, I can't the delete this e-mail. I wouldn't say yes because I'm not a christian, simple as that.
