I could go buy some butter, but just wondering, since I have margarine, can I use it and have the cookies still turn out good?

You can use margarine, but wouldn't you rather have a better tasting cookie for all your hard work?

es you can use margarine, however , if you are using a soft margarine the texture of the cookie will not be as good as if you used butter.
When I do the margarine/butter substitution for cookie recipes, I reduce the amount of 'butter' by a tablespoon and increase the amount of flour by a tablespoon or two. This ensures that my cookie dough is not too soft for rolling.

You can use margarine. If you have any butter at all use what you have and substitute margarine for the rest. Your cookie will still be good. It won't be as buttery tasting though.

Most cooks use margerine for cookies as long as it is stick margerine as the tub margerine contains to much water to bake with. The only cookies I use butter in are recipes that say not to substitute. I use margerine and the cheapist kind like Imperial or Blue Bonnet $0.59 per box. Good Luck!

I use Margarine for my cooking all the time. Don't really care for butter that much.

Margarine is kinda salty. I only butter in anything sweet. But, that's me. Maybe you'll like 'em, but I can always taste it.
