I dug around and found a recipe you can try:

2 cups white sugar
3/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 pinch salt

1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.
2. Bring to a boil, stirring contstantly.
3. Reduce heat to a simmer and put cover for 3 minutes to get sugar crystals off the sides of the pan.
4. Uncover and simmer, stirring often, until it begins to form soft balls when you stir.
5. Cool and store in a covered container at room temperature.
6. Your syrup should keep for about 2 months.
7. Makes about 2 cups.

Use your car if you have one or a bicycle or your own two legs and get to a store and buy some corn syrup. I don't know what you need it for and it doesn't matter. The best way to ruin a good recipe is to start adulterating it with other ingredients and it shows disrespect for the recipe and whoever gave it to you.
If you have time to wait for answers to this question then you have time to get some corn syrup.
BTW: if this is a round-about way to ask what you can substitute for corn syrup in your home-made baby formula, shame on you.

G'day Kristin D,

Thanks for your question.

What do you need the corn syrup for? That will allow us to provide a more detailed response to our question. You can add details above to guide us in our responses.

I would suggest try something else sweet or wait until you can get to a shop and buy corn syrup.

Regards

It depends on what you're making. Most candy recipes will not work with substitutions. Maple syrup might work.
