It depends on what you view as sin. If you ask any conversative Christian, naturally they will say yes.
I would say no. You're not hurting anyone, and solong as it does not take away from your duties in life, and done resposibly, I would not see getting high as a 'sin.'

As far as I know, in islam whatever makes you lose your mind is sinful because the religion of islam just like most great religion has for goal to discipline you to be responsible, control your senses, do what you know and know what you do, and eradicate your animal sides. I know someone who used to get drunk every saturday and one sunday he woke up on a street. That was the last day he touches alcohol. He joined christianism, i think adventist or another mission, which discourages the drinking of alcohol and has become a good and responsible human being.

If it gives you pleasure it is sinful! So does that mean watching a baseball/basketball/football team winning is also a sin?

"To get high" through narcotics is the sorcery of demonic manipulation of the mind through the vehicle of chemicals that allows for demonic manipulation.

Thus, it is spiritually opposite of God's nature - which is what S.I.N. is: (S)pirit (I)nverse (N)ature.
