If I Buy One in Canada?

If I buy a safeway gift card in canada, will i be able to use it in the states also? or is it just like a canadian one you use in canada? and i think i'm wondering about it with most gift cards...thanks in advance

Since the coinage is inter-changeable, why wouldn't gift cards be? On the other hand the difference in the U.S. dollar vs the Canadian dollar might come into play. An adjustment would have to take place somewhere.
