Take your time, start out as friends, so you do fun things that friends do, go out and socialize, have food, dance, get to know each other, you take it cool, do not rush, find out what he likes, and if the two of you are compatible, it is nothing wrong with asking a friend out for a fun evening. You do not, sell your self short by rushing into anything. this is the time for you to enjoy yourself, and have fun.

Just talk to him. Stare into his eye when he is talking to you and you will notice a lot of things about him like how much he blinks and where he is lookin at.

best way to know someone is to initiate a conversation. try not to hit with 'i like you', try indirect stuff or funny(girls are hardly funny sadly).
if someone likes u he would be at your disposal most of the time, if he aint, he's not really into you.
