Considering that the Old Testament was probably written in about 400 BCE and the New Testament was written by the Council of Nicea in 324 CE, most of it's inaccurate to say the least, and outright untruthful if you get deeply into it. I've read both several times and it just doesn't make any kind of sense.

It's hard to say for certain how much of the bible is true, and how much is not. So much of the bible is literary, and is meant to teach a moral lesson, and is not meant to either be taken literally or as history.
It still amazes me how many people take the story of Adam and Eve verbatim, rather than realize it is the story of every man struggle within himself. How is someone 5,000 years ago supposed to understand evolution?
The bible has a definite purpose, and it really is a wonderful book full of valuable lessons. As a historical recording, it's value is only as good as the author's understanding of the world in their own time.

Something in there is probably right, but the miracles and stuff never happened. They were probably real events that just got blown out of proportion, so the Bible wins a few points for not TOTALLY making them up, but they were still completely exaggerated.

Paul was the liar, and he is responsible for most of the hatred and bigotry found in the new testament. I would not even guess on the amount of exaggerations and untruths in that book.
