i recently well the 24th or close to there will be 2 months since i dyed my hair. I picked a dark ash blonde and it kinda turned my hair light brown/light red. and im about to get my hair highlighted. their also putting some bleach in it so it makes it really blonde. so even kno my hair is kinda light red will the streaks still be really blonde? the red wont affect it , will it? help!

ash tones will counteract red tones, with bleach you can go any color you want to. you may suggest they use a toner with no red it is a small pack you can add to your toner.

well ..i'm not a hair professional but i love highlighting my hair. My hair is long and black. I put that same colour...ash blonde into my balck hair and got the same results. thats because our hair or dark and highlights have a certain amount of bleach in it to take out the colour from our hair. So, since your hair was not as light as the hair box prescribed.. that little bit of bleach in the ash blonde box didn't give you blonde. Now the next time you put blonde highlights in.. it will work fine. You'll get blonde. in fact i took a box of blonde highlights.. for brown hair and put it on my brown strands and got perfect blonde highlights. so.. to sum up. Brown-> blonde. Black-> brown. These are the results you get from abox. When you get it professionally done.. they estimate how much bleach you need for your hair to get it blonde. so don't worry.

Just depends, one time even though my hair dye turned blonde when it was suppose to be light brown, my highlights still tured out to be the blonde it was suppose to be. I guess it just dpends on your hair and how it reacts with the chemicals.

I have highlighted my wifs hair and it turned out great. Get a good highlight kit and pull strands evenly thru the holes in the cap and follow directions and it should turn out ok.

when it comes to hair, there is nothing anyone can help you with. different people's hair react different to the same colour. you just have to go to the hair salon and pray that it'll turn out good. hasn't yet worked for me though, but i remain hopeful!

I wouldn't know, why'd you get it dyed in the first place, ya should've just left it how it was.
