What will the navy do about people with vision problems, I know the marines take your contacts and give you those dumba s s looking glasses. Could i still wear my contacts in the navy boot camp?

No - everyone who needs glasses is given the dorky looking ones to wear in boot camp. No contacts are allowed.

Every branch of service takes away your contacts and give you boot camp issued glasses. It is much safer. If you had in contacts and something got in your eye it is going to be much worse than it would be with out the contacts. Then what if the contact falls out while you are rubbing your eye!? Now you can't see. I dont' know about Navy but Marines go to the gas chamber and you really don't want CS gas in your eyes! Once you finish boot camp you can wear your regular glasses.

well in bootcamp u can't wear u contact in all i don;'t think any of other branch bootcamp let u, u can wear afterbootcamp however. they will gave u like a granpa looking alike glasses those might be look very funny and dork but they are the best glasses in vision and dulability.

The navy will also give you those dumbass looking glasses. You'll find out that's the least of your worries. As a matter of fact I still wear my BCGs every now and then (at home). They are damn comfortable.

not when i went through (1999) deal with the glasses you only there for two months...plus processing days. bear with it once you out you can go back too contacts. btw what are you going in for? i was sonar tech

you wil get dumbass looking glasses in bootcamp ... i never wore mine ... when i got out i simply had the lenses changed to very dark "blues brothers" for driving sunglasses and wore normal glasses everywhere else.

no you will be sporting the "birth control glasses". the good news after all your training you can have whatever you want...
