I just got my new ones and they feel itchy when I put them in. I put my left one in and it burned so bad that I could barely get it out. They weren't in backwards, that much I know for sure. What did I do wrong, what is this, and how can I avoid this?

If its an unknown brand then u probably got defective contacts. If u have been wearing them for a while and this is the first time then u should try the contact disinfectant stuff. U should take ur contacts out daily and wash them with the special water. If it continues ask ur optometrist.

You might have had something on your hands when you put them in. Make sure you wash your hands and rinse them well. If that's not it then when you say you got new ones - are they a different brand? You might have to go back to your optometrist and tell him/her you need to try a different kind. Same can go for your solution - might be irritating. If none of that is going on check out your lens. Maybe you poked a hole in one with your fingernail - it doesn't take much to damage a contact lens.
