Raven was a Brahman by caste who was a great worshipper of Shiva. he was a very learned & successful king.his only sin was kidnapping sita.still he kept her in ashok vana & never touched her he was one of vishnu's dwarpalaks in his last birth . the dwarpalaks were born as a demons because of a rishi's curse. god gave them a choice to be born as his devotees for 10 rebirths or to be born as demons for 3 rebirths & get killed by god himself.they opted for the later one as they wanted to come back to god as early as possible. ravana & kumbhakarna is one of their demon forms.the other two forms are shishupala &dantavakra, & hiranya kashipu & hiranyaksha.ravana was such a great devotee of shiva that shive had even given his atma linga to him. very few people worship him as god.rama is an incarnation of vishnu & he is worshpped in india.

Not only jainism but a lot of Hindus also pray Ravana as their God. Infact they even portray Rama in very bad light.

i am not sure if according to the jains he is considered god but recently during dusehra did see on TV that there is a temple dedicated to ravana where they pray to him.
he was a very learned man according to mythology. his ten heads actually denote the knowledge that he had.

maximum religions view themselves because the in difficulty-free words authentic and sanctified faith, this isn't restricted to Christianity. Christians, Muslims, Jews, and Hindus have all taken up hands adversarial to different religions in an attempt to expose their faith is ideal and staggering. Atheists view ALL religions as creations of adult males, created to regulate the inhabitants, to describe the unknown, and/or to fulfill the megalomania of a effective chief (on a similar time as we talk, many rulers make claims of divinity). @Sanctus Raphael - Or, the memories of the Bible are in basic terms no longer authentic. They both adorn, are tailored from different elements, or are thoroughly made up. bear in mind that Muslims believe the Koran is authentic in basic terms as a lot as you've faith the Bible. Hindus, the Vedas. Their justification for conception of their books is in basic terms as solid as your in the Bible. @sales area - Christianity is one in each and every of 1000's of religions that exist or have existed by ability of the historic previous of guy. extra, Christianity isn't even one faith, each and every denomination/sect interior of Christianity has its personal interpretation of the Bible and its personal variations of Jesus and God. once you die, odds are you picked the incorrect faith and also you'll be in Hell with something persons.
