A pet license is typically issued by a city, town, county. This is to collect a fee from pet owners, which is then used to fund an animal shelter you should be able to obtain your license from the local animal shelter or from the official offices, usually with proof of vaccinations. Some may even discount the fee for a fixed animal. You could consult your veterinarian or their staff on this also.

As to any specific locations for your area I would have to know more information.

Being AKC registered has nothing ot do with licensing for state/county. AKC registration only means that the dog is a purebred.

You need to go to the town office/city Hall to find out about local licensing.

you get your licensing from the city or county. akc has notathing to do with it.akc just does petagrees.the licensing in so the city knows if your dog has it shots. or if a dog bites a kid they can find out who has that kind of dog and where they live and so on

Personally, I think the breeder should have given it to you when you adopted the dog. Where I live a dog can only get licensed when it has its rabies vaccine , and it's done though the vet. If you can show proof that her rabies vaccine is current, I think you're going to have to apply for a license through the animal control agency in your area. Good luck.

you need to go through your county shelter. they do all the pet licensing( this is for the rabies tag) but for all the other type of tags you can go to your local pet store for a tag with all you information. but you can go to the akc site and you can get tags from them. but again if it is for the rabies you need to go to the county shelter for that one.

You do have her AKC pappers?. If not you can get papers for her from CKC. All you have to do is take 3 pics of her and send them in and for 12.00 they will give you paper's for her.You take a pic of her right and left side and than her front view.. Iam not sure that that is the Licensing that you where asking about.

check with your courthouse or municpal building. They should have the tags and paperwork for you so you can get a license. Some petshops will also have them.
