I don't go to church and I don't belong to any specific religion. However, I do believe in God. I don't pray all the time, but I do sometimes. I haven't read the WHOLE bible or anything. I do celebrate religious holidays, and know their true meanings.
The way I seen it is why should I go to a place of worship when so many other religions contradict eachother? Does God look down upon this, or is he just happy that I believe in Him, and try my best to follow His word the way I interpret it?

I guess I should add that I used to go to Church as a child. I just don't go now. I've seen too many contradictions and figured that if I believe in the same God as these people do, they why is it so DIFFERENT. I am educated in God's word.

I seriously don't think so, because you have to have a good soul and good intentions, but love is a real pain reliever, and it make your belief more stronger.

Two main considerations. First, the Bible is not of private interpretation....there is nothing wrong with seeking guidance; which is kinda like what you are doing here. But, pray for the ability to discern truth because , as you know, there are so many denominations that teach many variations on different subjects. An example would be baptism; some teach total immersion under water, while others teach sprinkling of water. Some don't worry about it at all! There are even those that say sprinkling rose pedals is acceptable. Finally, many teach infant sprinkling even though the Bible teaches that baptism is a conscience decision made by the individual. So, something as simple as baptism needs to be studied so we are in agreement with God's wishes and not our own or someone else's.
Second, about worshiping with a congregation. The Bible teaches us to assemble together for worship. It also teaches us to follow Jesus' example....which was to weekly gather with others for worship.
Finally, learn about Jesus and accept Him as the Lord of your life,,,then your life will be focused on learning the truths of the Bible and making those changes in your life that will be pleasing to Him.
Feel free to contact me for more info (including text) because what we believe is so important; affecting our eternal life.

If you are a true believer, then you should go. You can't play the game and just pick the rules that suit your lifestyle. If you really don't like church then maybe it is the whole religion thing that you are not comfortable with, Religion is living your life preparing for death... enjoy your life, for all you know it may be the only one you have.

You're on the right track. I only know that for me---living everyday for him makes me want to find a church where I feel at home, a church that has a similar vision for the future of the church, which will eventually be our safe haven from the destruction of the world. If we are living for Christ, and living by his Word--wouldn't we want a place to fellowship with other people who are living for the same thing. People who can also hold us accountable for our growth and actions.

You don't have to go to church to heaven. What you have to do is have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Salvation is not based upon works or church or baptism. It is a free gift from the Father through the Son. Check out the link below, it tells the basics.

it is a very difficult matter to discuss because there's always going to be some contradiction to hear-say. i believe in god and yet i go to church because the bible teaches communion. prayer is important because it's a special connection that you have with him and a time to have a personal conversation. the bible should be read all the time because the word renews itself (have special meaning) , even though you've read the same verse over and over again. do not set yourself in true salvation just because you believe in god because even demons believe in him and yet they have no salvation. there are many tests and hardships that the believer must go through to achieve such goal. god does not need us, it's us who need him. he's forever loving and merciful to help those who chose to carry their crosses and accept any tests that he gives us.

i have the same problem. i like to go to church but at the same time no, because churches to contridct each other, theres a lot of jelousy and envy sometimes i think that just being in a curch is sinning i mean its almost the same thing as out there. but if you belive in him and try to follow his word then more power to ya! so the answer to your question is no.

According to the Bible, the church is fellowship, not a building.

No, you do not ought to bypass to church to bypass to Heaven. All you ought to do to bypass to Heaven is settle for God, The Holy Father, into your heart. It says no the place in the bible you ought to bypass to church. Church is a man made construction for people to bypass and silently worship God, devoid of the intervention of of non-christian people.
