87 to 93 are so identicle under the hood it really makes no difference at all. Just to remind you they are old so there will be parts to replace here and there. Ive owned allot of mustangs and capri's once you get them running good. I tell you what those 5.0 litre's will literally run forever. Dont forget also timing chains in all cars need replacement around 120,000 miles. Unfortenatley allot of folks dont know that and the engine distroys itself. The 86 is fuel injected but I know the 86 are junk for performance. Hey do what I did junk those crappy flowing heads and bolt on some rebuilt 87 and up 5.0 heads. Ive done this and tell ya what you have a better flowing head and you increase the compression ratio quiet a bit so there is extra performance right there. The one down fall is you really couldn't put a bigger cam in it because pistons have no valve reliefs. Hey im not complaining though my car has had one hell of a HP increase. Good luck

That is one of my favorite styles.
I used to own an '87 LX 5.0L. It
was basically the last major up-
grade of this chassis.
I would recommend that you find
the newest one (i.e. as close to a
'93 as possible), with the lowest
miles for least amount of potential
problems. The '87 had a lot of re-
liability issues. The older the car,
the much more chance that it will
be worn out anyway, so, unless
you have good mechanic skills, I
would stay away from the older.
You might want to try and track
down a Saleen, unless it would
be too flashy for you. If that is the
case, then find an LX 5.0L. The
GT will be more popular (i.e. with
a higher selling price) and will also
run the risk of being driven harder.

Get a 90 or 91. They are small and if you decide to trick it out well it will be screaming. My friend has a 90. It's a running S.O.B. It has everything on the motor Trick-Heads and Trick Flow Fuel System. with a Flowmaster. It is rude get one like that you won't regret it.

My step dad has a '90 Mustang. There nice but I think the nicest Mustangs are the ones from the 60s. There more expensive if you want one mint, but it's well worth it.

it is a desirable car ---I think if I had my choice I would perfer a 1970 BOSS 302 stick. Yellow in color. High dollar ride. I also had a 19941/2 first year of pony car. Great little car.
