If he is male, is he neutered?
Having a pet neutered makes them less aggressive.
How long has he been in your house? It takes 6-8 weeks for introductions to new places, and what he is trying to do is establish dominance, which is typical of animals of all breeds.
He attacks you, as he is likely afraid...and again trying to be dominate. You have to be what the "dog whisperer" calls assertive dominate. No need to be rough or mean to him, but don't tolerate being scratched or bitten. If he continues to be aggressive to your other cats, it may be a good idea to introduce him to the pack in a more slow manner. Buy a cat pen/crate, and keep him separated until he learns. He is young and if he is neutered and handled he WILL learn. Also, having come from a shelter (good for you on adopting one!!!) you never know what his background was. He might have come from an abusive home that made him defensive. Now as his new mom it is up to you to retrain him and make him a good cat citizen! It isn't always easy but it is a very good use of your time. You may be saving his life by retraining him

Getting animals from a shelter is a great thing, but sometimes those animals have behavioral problems the shelter doesnt know about.
You can try a spray bottle with water when he acts fussy with the other cats.
Get him or her declawed (this will stop scratching but eventually they will start biting)
Maybe he/she needs more time to adjust (you dont know what that cat has been through befor you adopted him)
Finally...it could be possible that the cat is just not meant for a home with other pets. As unfortunate as that sounds maybe your house is to active for the cat and needs a home thats quieter. If thats the case contact the shelter you got him/her from and let them know what kind of problems your having or find someone who doesnt have any animals and lives alone.
I had a cat just like that from a shelter, i neutered him, declawed him and still he would bite and attack everyone unless i was home by myself. I found him a good home with an elderly man with no pets and the cat is doing absolutly fantastic.

Some cats just don't get along with other cats. Have you tried talking to your vet about it ? I'm sure they would have some great advice, but I would take your cat to the vet just to rule out anything medical. If it's behavioral, then you and your vet can go from there. Good luck !

Don't give up on him!! Just continue to show him love, and pet him as much as you can, and if you pick him up and he tries to get away, hang on and pet him till he purs his heart out. I have cats too, so you're not alone!!
