Why care what others think, as long as you know what is in your own heart?

At first I thought some people really wanted honest answers, to what I thought were honest questions, but I instead found out some just want to make a statement. So, I try not to waste my time on those kind of questions. I think it's just a microcosm of society in general. It upsets me, yes. I'm trying to just concentrate on Christians with honest questions or anyone else that has a sincere question about Christianity. Sometimes I get caught up in the negativity of insulting other religions and I know that is wrong. Oh well, we can only try and do better.

God blesses those who are persecuted because they live for God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses you when you are mocked and persecuted and lied about because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted, too.
Matthew 5:10-12
Righteous anger must be given to God, he will judge the living and the dead. (Those born in the kingdom and those outside)
But there is going to come a time of testing at the judgment day to see what kind of work each builder has done. Everyone's work will be put through the fire to see whether or not it keeps its value.
If the work survives the fire, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builders themselves will be saved, but like someone escaping through a wall of flames. Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?

It more disturbs me more what is said about race, sexual orientation, and complete religious persecution. I have seen more negative comments on here directed at atheists and Muslims than I have towards Christians. As for 'righteous anger', that is a prejudice against the people who don't think as you do. Do you really want to do something about it? Start with yourself and your life. Do you live your life the best that you can? Do you show neighborly love to all people, even if their beliefs are different from yours? Do you participate in volunteer activities to help the poor or the homeless people? Do you donate time or money to these causes? It does you no good to get mad at people because all you end up doing is hurting yourself.

Yes sometimes it does upset me a lot. And there such a thing as righteous anger. I want to do something about it, but we are supposed to just deal with it and turn the other cheek. I try to defend God as much as I can but, some people just don't want to listen so I just pray for God to change their hearts.

I have to say, there is a small section of people who actually bash individual people here.... the arguement seems to me to be more about belief anf non-belief. What I as a non-believer am concerned about are the number of people who personally email me to bash ME about my opinions, though I don't email them about theirs. I will reply to their attacks, but I never initiate it. If you have "righteous anger" then you should see someone about that. And there is really nothing you can do about it, because christians bust on atheists and evolutionists here repeatedly too. Sort of the pot calling the kettle black. Don't expect us to sit back and say nothing when we get attacked either. I should think that if you were secure in your faith it wouldn't bother you at all.

What upsets me is watching people who call themselves Christian behave in a way that causes others to speak about Christians as they do. If Christians would not be so quick to condemn and attack we might be better off. Jesus calls us to love one another and forgive each other. If we truly need to correct our brother or sister out of love for them we are go to them and speak words of truth and charity. We are not to publicly slander and denounce entire groups of individuals. We are not to declare anyone condemned to hell. We are not to call names or respond in anger. If all the Christians on this board behaved like Christians it would be a much more productive form of dialog.

I just want to shake them and wake some of them up. Most are respectful but the ones that post questions about the ignorance of Christians drives me batty. They have this stero-type of what we are and it is so wrong. When I first found this site I could not quite wondering why they cared so much if they didn't believe. Now I know they are just searching just like we all did before we found him.
What do you think we should do...anybody with any ideas feel free to email me.

Most athesist's repect you're belief's.
A lot of christians on yahoo are righteous and arrogant. Very annoying when they think they know all the answers and think they are better than us.
It's best to ignore all the insults on yahoo. It's only the intenet. Everyone gets abuse here. I expect it.

Yes, Yes, Yes,!.......myself as well as a few other true belivers on this site has been speaking about this for quite some time now!....The only reason that heathens, agnostics, atheists, evolutionists, etc. etc. etc. logs onto this religious /spiritual forum is to Condemn, Harass, Mock, Judge, Make False Accusations Against Christians, and INSULT!......when they can easily log onto a site that believes the same as they believe!....simple as that!....PS. Let the facts be known that the only reason that those who spend their time Opposing GOD are the ones who get their kicks out of stirring up Strife & Starting Trouble on this religious/spiritual site!........simple as that!....Yahoo should "sub-categorize this site and monitor this site daily and this would help put a stop to the condemnation, harasment, barbarian insults, etc. etc. etc. towards believers!......simple as that!

It only cofirms what the Bible says; "Professing themselves to be wise they became fools." They only in doing so confirm the Word of the Lord. Rejoice therefore and be glad for the Wrod of the Lord is fullfilled each time they do so.
