The soul is the part of the supposid self that continues existing after the body as the soul is supposidly not a part of the body.

If you hear people speak about a soul you'll hear them relate it to personality and ideas about the self yet the self is highly based off this physical existance. Now if there is a part of the self that continues on how could a person fully address it and seperate it from the self that is based off the phsycial realm? Unless they are capable of entering into different realms the soul already sounds highly fictional.

Now what would this soul be? Just another identifier, a way of seperating self from other and if the soul is simpy the self in a state of non body then it is simply just an idea without a body a state in which there is no action is just a state of being and thus there would be no identifiers to seperate self from others meaning that if there was a soul the moment of being in a state of non body the soul would no longer exist.

Your soul is you. What does the Bible really teach about the soul?
Here are some Scriptures to examine:
Genesis 2:7: "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."
Leviticus 5:4: "Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these."
Leviticus 7:20: "But the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that pertain unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people."
Ezekiel 18:20: "The soul that sinneth, it shall die."
Revelation 16:3: "And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea."
The Bible is very clear on what the soul is. It is a person, it can swear, it can eat, it dies(it is not immortal), and animals are souls

According to Rational Spirituality, a fast growing knowledge of God and the Universe, for the thinking person, a Soul is a unique configuration of energy and wisdom within one consciousness. In every incarnation the Soul adds more accumulated wisdom to the Soul, by which the Soul grows. During each subsequent incarnation a Soul retains the subconscious knowledge of its previous existence. Hence some people are "old and wise" since birth (like Mozart, da Vinci), and others remain childish into senility. The latter would be inexperienced young Souls with little or no accumulated wisdom from previous lifetimes.

A Soul earns its immortality. That means that it can incarnate for as long as it needs to, and it will live on, in bliss, after it completed its learning process. It is comparable to a child growing up, and the state of bliss is in the bible referred to as "heaven".

Not all Souls are immortal. Many are trial and error existences whose energies simply recycle after the death of their bodies. These would be Souls with no purpose in life and with no desire to better themselves as a consciousness.

The fate of every Soul is entirely its own choice, but there are laws that must be observed, and these apply to all Souls equally.

"Rational Spirituality" is available on the Dhaxem website. Enjoy it!

Molecules of creation are being transformed into “Atma”(soul) by it’s nature.

Atom is very small unit of it. A billionth part of an inch of a matter is called an atom. The total universe is a combine manifestation of big and small atoms and molecules. Every atoms or molecules has seven layers :-
Physical body (which is called a reason body or material element)
Etheric body (it is also called space element or intelligence body)
Thin body (Also called as desire body, film body, or shade body)
Mettle body (Also called life body, consciousness body)
Spiritual body (Also called spiritual element ( From the first layer to the fifth layer the data’s of life is stored))
Cosmic body (Also called a cosmic element or ‘conscious’ )
Nirvana body (Bodiless body) or Absolute space.

In an atom, this seven body remain in a dormant stage, but with the process of development of the atom, they also start developing. In an ordinary human being, only five of those are developed. With meditation and practice the rest ‘two’ layer get developed. The soul has seven layers in it. Even, the body and the skin have seven layers in each of them. By help of spiritual development, human being can experience these layers.
These seven layers are present in an atom in a manner of melted together and mingled together.

It looks one, but his (human being) total body contains these seven layers. Like the seven layers in an atom, the universe, the earth, the plant kingdom, the water, the fire, and the gases also have the same. There is no separate heaven or hell in this creation. Of course there are such planets in this universe where life is more of a paradise and more prosperous than so called heaven. There are also planets where life is worse than hell.

As I had mentioned before, with the first explosion of the ‘creation’ the god was also divided along with the division of its divine power. God or deities are not name of particular persons, but are the imaginary names of the capacity and the enormous expansion they carry. The invisible world has a parliamentary system where persons from the visible world are only the members. After getting power of divinity only, they become member of it and later they merge with the “Param Brahman” (Absolute space). Or greedy of re-incarnation, they take birth again in the material world.

The word "soul" did not exist in the times of Jesus, Socrates or Aristotle, and so the quotations, interpretations and translations of the word "soul" from these sources, means that the word should be handled very carefully. One might go as far as saying that the word "soul", in the sense we use it today, did not exist in Hebrew or Aramaic, but it existed in Greek [citation needed]. Ancient Greeks typically referred to the soul as psyche (as in modern English psychology). Aristotle's works in Latin translation, used the word anima (as in animated), which also means "breath". In the New Testament, the original Greek word used is "Psyche" which in Ancient and Modern Greek means soul :

"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" (Matthew 16:26)

The Latin root of the related word spirit, like anima, also expresses the idea of "breath". Likewise, the Biblical Hebrew word for 'soul' is nephesh, meaning life, or vital breath.

The various origins and usages demonstrate not only that what people call "soul" today has varied in meaning throughout history, but that the word and concept themselves have changed in their implications.

I believe that I have a soul. It is the essence of me. It is what makes me who I am. I think that our souls live multiple lives in an effort to learn from new experiences.

I love this question, by the way.

It is that part of every human that departs from the body during sleep, temporarily, and at death, permanently. It is immortal, and unlike animals who have no soul, will never die.
