Primarily the self is this body. After that it's really just a bunch of ideas and if you look at those ideas you'll see a bunch of choices made about those certain ideas and which ideas to make what you call the self.

If you look for the self anywhere in this body you really won't find it. It's all just a construct of mind that is constantly in flux and therefor is just an idea, in other words it doesn't exist.

But it does exist here is a self typing these words to another self showing that there are ideas that call themselves self and that they are sentient and thus do exist.

So the whole answer to the question is yes and no.

Only in your mind, just like everything else. For, without the mind, nothing exist for the self. Without the mind, there is only the body. And th empty soul. Only nothingness.

You mean that you don't know if you exist ? If you have any doubt at all, it will all be straightened out if you don't pay your taxes.
