Atenolol:
A relatively selective Beta1 Blocker having lo lipid solubility. It is incojmpletely absorbed orally, but first pass metabolism is not significant. Because of longer duration of action, once daily dose is often sufficient. Side effects related to CNS action are less likely. No deleterious effects on lipid profiles hav been noticed.
Effective dose 4 most individuals falls in a narrow range. Its one of d most commonly used Beta Blockers 4 Hypertention and Angina.
