the only weight loss you'll get is the fact that your intestines will be empty. the whole goal of weight loss is to lose fat, not empty out your bowels...so although you might weigh less on the scale...you're still the same body-fat percentage...so why waste your time and money and possibly put your health at risk by becoming dehydrated. try doing something that will help you to lose body fat...like exercise!!!

Laxatives are not good for weight loss. They drain the body's food in the digestive tract and take a lot of water out in the process leaving you dehydrated. If you take too much you also become nutrition depleted. Vital nutrients are lost. It messes up your bowel habit routine. Some laxatives may make you dependent.
Modest amount of fiber is good. It keeps you healthy. You can get it from vegetables, fruit and lot of the whole wheat stuff.
If you want to lose weight, best way to do it is by cutting portion sizes... Buy smaller plates, bowls. Eat the things you like but, in limited quantities. Stay away from obvious greasy stuff. Decide what you wanna get rid of: the sweet tooth or the ugly fat. Your body cannot accomodate both.
I'm not jus sayin it. I lost 30 lbs. I'm in a great shape. Whenever, I look at the mirror, I have all the motivation to keep going on.

Laxitives cause dehydration and fibres enhance your bodies natural laxitive abilities. In short it's a sure why to become anorexies. People (women) in general are not as fat as they think they are. If you really want to die try a healthy calorie based diet with some regular excersice. That does not mean you have to excersice all day, a few kilometers of walking an hour the the gym is all it takes, combined with a healthy diet. Surly you don't want to look like some international anorexic model.

No. Don't even go down that route. This could be a big prob and should be nipped in the bud now before it becomes a big problem (assuming that you intend to do this for yourself). There is no quick healthy way to loose weight other than the Billy Connelly diet entitled "eat less, move more". Self explanatory really!!!

NO. Laxatives cause your body to dehydrate very quickly. Far better off doing a low carb low GI weightloss programme and drink at least four litres of unflavoured water everyday.

It may be effective, but is also extremely dangerous, as I suspect you already know.
A well balanced meal is better, with exercise. A weight loss of two lbs per week is plenty.

Thats rediculous. You will have heard this thousands of times efore but count your calories and add in some moderate excercise. It's repeated so often because its the nly thing that ultimately works long term.
If it sounds like a fad, feels like a fad, is described like a fad, its a fad.

Please take care of yourself my dear. You should not take anything like that because it will make you ill. Do you cook? I regulaly make food with real ingredients. I imagine you are quite young. You will lose weight if you eat sensibly. My rule is that I eat whatever I want but I only eat natural products. Have a go at making your own stew and soups. I have recepies if you want some.

By effective I assume you mean "lasting" and appearance-enhancing." Laxatives and fiber make you lose pounds because it'll dehydrate you. But that's not sustainable. If you're seriously considering this, get help because you have body image issues.
