Okay im just curious....Ive read some links online about how males have bio. clocks as well and the age of them matters when having a child. Is it true that the older the male the higher risk you carry of a birth defect? Lower sperm count and "mutated" sperm? What age is too old for a man to have a child? THANKS :)

There is an increased risk of birth defect in babies born to older fathers, but it is very small compared to the risk from older mothers.

That is not true at all. Women have biological clocks, men do not. Thats one of the main reasons you see so many older men with younger women. Men's sperm count does lower as they get older so it may be a little harder to reproduce but it will not effect the child in any way.

There isn't really any age for a male that they can't create a child I know the older they get the harder it may be but only do to the fact some have a harder time in the bedroom. It really has nothing to do with the sperm.

Men can make babies as long as they live. Of course, the sperm count may go down, and those recent studies show that the older they get, the quality may not be the same. They do not, however, have a biological clock as women do.

As much as I have read on pregnancy I have never read that with a man's age there is increased risk of birth defects from his sperm.

I know that with maternal age there is an increased risk of Down Syndrome, Trisomy 21, etc.

There are plenty of old men who have had perfectly healthy children. Tony Randall, for example.

there are new reports out linking men over 35 and children with Autism. NOW I find this link RIDICULOUS as there is no 1 reason why A child would have autism.
But honestly AS men do age they do have less active swimmers

Sperm are constantly generated and subject to constant "editing". After, meiosis, eggs remain dormant and are subject to aging.

that is true with females, but i don't think that is very common with males. for example, larry king, kelsey grammar. it seems like much older dads are becoming more popular.
