The Canadian province of Newfoundland sells the highest proof alcoholic spirits in North America. I am leaving out raw grain ethanol which is laboratory stuff and not really drinkable nor pleasant. I enjoy a dark rum that is 154 proof, called London Dock, that I buy whenever I or a friend gets to the island. The rest of North America does not have any alcoholic spirits that are 100 proof (about 50% alcohol). Newfoundland negotiated their alcohol exception when they joined the Canadian confederation in 1949. It's a beautiful place and it has some of the friendliest and most hospitable people in North America. But the weather is rough and often raw. And maybe that's why Newfoundlanders love their overproof liquor.

p.s. Quebec province sells a bottled rotgut called alcool which is as close to pure ethanot as you can produce. (ethanol pulls water out of the atmosphere, so it must be sealed as soon as it is distilled, & thus is almost never 100%).

everclear 190 (95%)
aparently not legal in all US states.

I remember in Mn they sold everclear 151( 75.5%)

Searching the Wiki finds:
190 proof Everclear is illegal in 10 states Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Washington, California, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, Virginia and West Virginia ,

it is thought by some that if you drink it on a regular basis, it can damage your tooth enamel. (I was told this by my doc and read it on the web)

Warning: Can be lethal when used as shots or substituted for water in Jello shooters due to overdose.

...

also from the wiki
Everclear is also gaining popularity as fuel for the alcohol stoves and Beverage-can stoves often used by ultralight backpackers. It is expensive compared to denatured alcohol, but many backpackers greatly value it because unlike most other fuels it is non-toxic (accidental introduction will not ruin the food being prepared) and can be used as a hand cleanser, disinfectant, panic suppressant, painkiller, or as a beverage mixer.

An European marriage is legal in the USA and an USA marriage is legal in Europe. All you need to do is show your marriage certificate. In case you are from a non English speaking country, they could require from you to have your certificate translated by a official (sworn) translator. I hope this helps! Tiffy
