depeds on where your going. I would not recommend t-shirt and jeans but a polo or maybe button up shirt thats not tucked in. Id wear nice jeans or kakis. But make sure to impress with the shoes, watch and any jewelry you wear. be clean cut. she wouldve been plucking and shaving before this date so show the same respect and shave as well. Have your hair cut 3-5 days before so that its clean cut but now wierd like it always is that first day or two after being cut. JUST REMEMBER THIS IS NOT A DATE.....IT IS AN INTERVIEW. TREAT IT THE SAME.

If she is under 25 wear, blue jeans, steve madden shoes(shoe that looks like a tennis shoe), or reactions, nice polo shirt or nautica shirt or similar.

If she is over 27 wear, blue jeans, dress casual shoe(rockport, or similar), button down shirt hanging on the outside. All women like this style, its hip and looks great.

note: never wear tennis shoes on a date.

You didn't mention what university you attend. I want to know so I can avoid one that produces grad students who are 27 and still don't know how to dress themselves.

Whatever you do, DO NOT wear a kilt.

Seriously.

Dude.

No matter how much your friends tell you it'll be cool, and even if it IS a U2 concert.

For one thing, U2's not even Scottish.

DO NOT GO TO A U2 CONCERT IN A KILT.

That's two suggestions for the price of one.

You go get em, tiger.

you picked a tricky question. That depends on your dates style as well as were you are going on your date. if she is a Conservative dresser then dress the same. you don't want to show up in work jeans and a t-shirt if she is all dressed up. That would make her feel overdressed and awkward. Or it my make her think you did not think enough of their date to dress up.

Do not make the first date seem too stuffy. I hope casual attire would be acceptable. Press your clothes and and smell good. Be well groomed and be yourself.

if on a formal date, then a black tuxedo will do, but if on a casual one wear a formal pant with matching shirt. but don't forget to put a good perfume in moderate quantity

well it all goes down on what you feel like wearing. But anyway just try casual, but if you thinking anything elegant then i suggest you wear something more formal.
