Has any1 else boycotted turkey at christmas since seeing what pain and sufferring they go through to line the fat mans pockets?

I'm doing an assigment 4 college and I feel that in this generation we would be more sensitive and aware to the cruelty that goes on around us.

I must not of explained myself properly before, i am saying the same as jon boy the cruelty in ways the livestock (but turkey 4 the reason b4) are treat. Cramped conditions, faeces all around them till the day they die(yes bramblerock thats how its spelt) and of course they suffer: their skin gets burnt off the ammonia in the litter, gashes and open sores.
And yes i buy meat (its organic - living a free range, extensively reared)
I've noticed when talking about this subject most people assume your veggie if you have issues with it, and are blind to these facts

I feel the cruelty is in the way that livestock are kept. i.e. usually in cramped, unhygienic conditions and where they lack space to move and develop. Sometimes it is the way in which they are slaughtered.

I do not feel it is cruel to slaughter animals. This is something we have always done to feed ourselves and we should accept that humans are omnivorous.

However intensive farming has a poor record of producing substandard meat and inflicting unsafe and cruel conditions on livestock in many cases.

2, Then also what is the alternative? Ham ? Goose? What if the Pig is kept in horribly inhumane conditions? Or, is it ok to eat the turkey for x-mas if it is not raise inhumanely?

if your going to think like that you would have to become a veggie, nothing wrong in that everyones own choice, not acceptable for animals tolive like that but if you make an informed choice about where your products come from they won't have had such a bad life
