I personally love takeoff. Then after that, it's boring, lol.

Commercial flights are opportunities for me to read, or more likely get my next talk prepared on the laptop.

When I fly myself (I'm a private pilot), I like the landings best... particularly the few seconds of "flare" right before touch-down.

When my kids were little I used to take them to the airport and arrange to land right at sunset... they thought it was cool that I could make the sun come back up by doing a touch-n-go.

Aloha

Well, It's been a REALLY long time since the last time I flew but I think I like takeoff too.

I am uncomfortable the entire time because my ears don't pop right.

But the landings and takeoffs are fun. I would have to say the takeoff beats the landing.

But nothing beats when the really cute steward comes around with the liquor cart.

Whoooo Hoooo!!!!

My favorite part of flying(I'm a pilot) is definitely going IMC(Instrument meteorological conditions) and "popping on top" as its called. When you're down on the ground and its all dark and dreary and light rain is falling you feel tired and bored, you know the yucky day feeling but when you get in the airplane and enter the clouds you know your in for something great. Right when you "pop on top" you look out and just see the clouds and the sun is shining on top of them. Just a beautiful creation by the great guy in the cosmos. That feeling of a dark and dreary day are gone and your one with the sky.

Besides from the general experience, the best part of flying is listening to the air traffic controllers with my headset while on a commercial flight. I'm an air traffic controller and so is my husband. We always know what's going on in real-time as far as route changes or pending turbulence and we get to make fun of crappy controllers.

I like watching the rising sun and seeing the morning mist in a green valley; the sun glinting off a body of water. I like the sun dog rainbow that is visible against a cloud as you pass it by and the lay of the land under my wings.A group of children waving from a sandy beach. A sunset seen twice as you climb for altitude and a star filled sky materializing before my eye's as the sky changes from red to purple and to black. But most of all I like to watch the face of a passenger whom has never experienced flight and the reflection of one who has not flown in a long, long time.

hearing those engines thrust up and the momentum of take off and watching everything wip on by and get smaller and smaller as you climb in altitude.

Alway wondered how quick those things acclerate.

like with cars and bike you hear ...0-60 in 7 sec, or for a porsche 0-60 in 3.9 sec

and the quarter mile in 13.5 sec

how fast does that plane pick up on the initial take off

other then that yes, your just sitting in a seat next to people you don't lke.

I like the take off too. But after my last flight, with the plane dropping two thousand feet, I think I will stick to the ground for a long time.

The take off and the power of all that thrust in a jet, and navigating a float plane through the rockies in North America or Alaska.
