Hi, I'm a 16 year old teenage who is experiencing hair problems.

My hair is only smooth and soft after I shampoo and condition.

On days where I don't shampoo my hair, my hair will become dry and very messy? It's not "strand by strand" and not shiny neither.

Any home remedies for nice and shiny hair?
Plus what can i do to make my hair grow faster?

Thanks alot of the help! =)

first of all you hair will grow faster if you brush it more. Second try cracking a couple of eggs and washing (in cold water). The eggs help with protein and will shine your hair. their are products in the shampoo isle you can use like pomade that will help with shinniness too. You can also go to tha salon and ask around what can help out with your hair as well.

Do not use Mayonnaise or olive oil like a lot of people will suggest to keep your hair shiny and soft. It adds unnecessary oils and makes hair limp. Try to find a shampoo that enhances shine. Something that you get from a hair salon and not on the counter at the grocery store is better for your hair because professional shampoos have less alcohol and other ingredients that you don't want.

Try Frizz Ease Secret Weapon. It's sort of like a balm. You rub it between your hands and apply it directly to the roots first and run your fingers through your hair. It gives it a lot of shine and keeps it manageable without that dry, poofy look a lot of people get midday.

Honestly, if you really want
the best out of your hair.. and
a sense of value from your product..
you HAVE GOT TO try REDKEN hair products!!!!

REDKEN products totally work!!
Although the products are quite expensive, but
you'll know you're not being ripped off..
plus you'll get a good value from using the product,
but REDKEN products do work!! You
can only get these products at the Hair Salons..
so visit any of your local hair salons and just
try the shamppoo and conditioner together..
and if you dont know.. you can ask a consultant
in the salon to help you choose the best REDKEN products
for your hair type.. because honestly, it works!!!!! =D you'll be
surprised~ it honestly works for my dried, damaged, coarsey-ish hair~
and Im getting back my nice shiney healthylooking hair again~~~ =D

and the conditioner is about $14.99 and up...
and the bottles are kinda small and slim.. especially
the conditioner, and its more expensive than the shampoo..
i dont know why... but you'll definitely wanna get
these two products (shampoo and conidtioner) together to
get a reallyyyyyy good result =)

don't wash your hair everyday. you need to let the natural oils get to your hair. it moisturises the hair naturally.
do not dye your hair. do not blow dry your hair. when you towel it dry, don't rub it too much.
always use a conditioner.
[speaking from experience ]

I have similiar thick hair, one bad thing to do for dry hair is to wash hair everday as it strips all the moisture and oils out of the hair.

Too be truthful i have tried many products to help keep hair shiny and soft but they all haven't seemed to have helped much. I would suggest trying the RedKen products tvbfan is talking about, it seems very good

Also, when you put conditiner on your hair after you've shampooed, rinse you r hair with cold water to lock in the moisture and conditioner.

That is a common problem for many people. I read an article, when washing your hair, it is important to massage your head. Your hair won't get so dry and it glanzes.

I use Herbal Essence shampoo and conditioner. My hair is dyed so I use the color treated ones. Usually I leave the conditioner in for about 3 mins before I wash it and I find that it helped my hair be more smooth. Also, sometimes I use hair mask to improve the shine of my hair too.

well..
1) thin out your hair
2) do no dye it
3) dont wash your hair everyday
4) always use conditioner
5) do a oil treatment every month, or as needed.
as for oil treatments, you dont have to go to the hair salon to get it done. there are loreal packaged ones that are much less expensive then the hair salon

lack of moisture makes your hair frizzes. it's not just the products you use. it's also what you take into your body. try eating more healthy foods and drink plenty of water to boost up your hydration levels.

i think i've the worst hair of all.. it's thick, bulky, curly, dry, damaged and frizzy. i hate my curls, so i've to rebond it every 4 mths.. does rebonding too much damage your hair? the hair salon auntie said it doesnt.. if dont wash my hair for a day, it'll itch badly.. and i need to apply moisturizer on my hair everytime after i bathed, or else my hair will be very bulky and dry.. plus i've dandruff.. bad hair isnt it..

hmm...
First: Your only supposed use a conditioner once a week
remember, too much of one thing is bad

To make your hair light, before you wash it you should brush it to reveal more oil

when shampooing and conditioning, i would use a moiusturizing shampoo and then use a medium conditioner and it can be a two in one (you know, like a detangler and conditioner), and for the shine, heh heh, i use citrus shine.
