With my old film camera and now more frequently with my digital camera, if I take a photo inside my house, regardless of if I use flash or not on my camera, these white circles randomly appear in the photos, in different places, different sizes, sometimes almost transparent and others very visible. Sometimes only one or two appear, sometimes they're are so many that you can't even see all of them. My sister tells me these are spiritual energy orbs, but she doesn't know much about them. If anyone can tell me anything about these, please do. Thanks!

Serious answers only, please. I know my question is pretty far-fetched but I'm asking somebody who actually has some type of knowledge of paranormal things. Thanks.

It sounds like something called a "spirit orb." Essentially, they are related to fae (faeries). Their energy is not detectable with human eyes, but it is recordable through technological means. Think of it like radiation: you can't see it, or smell it, or touch it, or taste it, or feel it, but it is detectable with certain instruments. For some reason, the light of some spirits can be recorded through a camera lens, though it's undetectable to the human eye.

The orbs are, indeed, spirit orbs, the remnant energy of a departed spirit. It takes many orbs to make one 'ghost'. Most times the spirit is not malevolent, but friendly. It is possible to communicate with the spirit with a real seance, but under no circumstances should you ever use a OUIJA board. Once contact is made, you can send the spirit away by telling it to go to the light. it will, and you won't be bothered anymore.
Good Luck!

From your description it sounds like something called "asteroid hyalosis." Have you ever seen one of those snow globes? If you imagine your eye to be a snow globe, the asteroid hyalosis is the "snow" floating around inside. When doctors look inside your eye, that is just what it looks like. These are called "asteroid" because some say it looks like we are floating around in an asteroid field in space! These are thought to be small calcium particles, which are in the vitreous of one or both eyes. These are generally not a really big deal, just kind of a pain for the patient to live with. Having said that, it is impossible to make a diagnosis from just your description. You should have an eye exam and if no pathology (including asteroid hyalosis) is found, then further testing for other causes need to be performed. Hope this helps! Doc

How old is your house?. Find out what was on the sight befor the house was built. I belive you are experancing a thing that we photo takers as Goast. Sounds like your house may contain lost sperits. I think you should get all imformation on the land your house is built on. if it is a old house(50-80 ) years old then you most likely have ghost.

even though i do believe in spirit lights ...
i feel these orbs caught on camera are only dust or moisture particles
as you said , they are caught more so on digital cameras and they are reported now more than ever due to this
the speed of these cameras are faster and this allows for particles naked to the human eye to be seen

Please, there is only material energy in the material world in wich we live.
Dont call ghoostbusters, instead try: www.skeptic.com
Honestly it could be heat.
There is no such thing as an aura, there is such a thing as an electromagnetic "feild" which is (heat) material energy, surrounding our bodies .

It is most likely refracted light entering the lens and creating these "spiritual orbs." This effect is common.

these may be dust particles as this was shown on a report on television as to how even minute dust particles can be picked up by the camera lens.

It's not spirits. There must be things reflecting light in your house.
