My chihuahua goes buck wild for sweet potatoes. Since it contains natural sugar and not artificial ones - I thought it was okay to feed it to her. The vet told me that pumpkin will help her with her stool being soft - I thougth sweet potatoes might have the same effect. Opinions?

Sweet potatos will not hurt your dog. They are a so called human food that is safe for dogs, and are even used in many of the high quality dog foods. When supplementing a dogs diet with other foods though,it is best to not let what you add exceed 10% of total daily food intake.

No its not Healthy to give her that for her 2-3 meals a day. If shes picky you can soak her doggie Biscuits in some water or Milk. They will be mushy and she should Eat that..When you got her what was she fed? find out and buy the same food if you can ,and eventually change it to the food that you buy.

In very small portions and not too often. I have a chihuahua and he loves frozen peas. I read that vegetables can be good for them, but in small portions. Same as fruit, but even less because fruit has more sugar in it.
