I'll go with young earth, 6,000 is a little low, but not much.
No scientist would admit to the young earth age...talk about being ostracized by their peers. That would cost billions, if the scientists don't tow the party line. They like to keep their jobs and who wouldn't?

A 6000 year old universe does not make any sense whatsoever.
Considering the enormous size of the universe (billions of lightyears), and the speed of light (186,000 mi/sec.) , we would not even be able to see the other side of the universe with telescopes because the light from the other side would not have had enough time to reach our eyes.
When you decide to open your eyes and look at the world around you, and be HONEST about it, you will see that creation myths are more fantasy than fact. If people made up those stories, then what does that say about the rest of them in religion?

I'm not sure if you're joking, it's hard to tell. But if the world is 6,000 years old, then why does Wikipedia have an entire page on what human civilization was doing 7,000 years ago and before? Somehow, something doesn't add up.
A 6,000-year-old Earth would put the date of creation at around 4000 BC. But at the same time, Wikipedia lists the following:
c. 7000 BC – Beginning of the Peiligang culture in China.
c. 8000 BC – Settlements at Nevali Cori in present-day Turkey are established.
c. 8500 BC – Great Britain - Mesolithic hunters camp at Cramond, Prehistoric Scotland.
You can go back even further than that if you want. How do you explain that?

the more logical billions of years old universe. There are trees close to 6000 years old. the world has to be older than that, since we all know magic doesn't exist, at least on this plane of existance. besides, can you explain how the world population went from2 to 6 billion in only 6000 years? Do you know how many children each woman would havehad to have in order for that to happen?

I suppose the 5 billion people on this planet came from Adam and Eve as well? Two people. Just two. So does that mean the brothers and sisters had to screw each other to populate the earth? And how did we get such wildly varrying DNA?
Oh, and what verse, exactly which verse from your ancient book of fairy tales, proposes that the earth is 10,000 or 6000 years old?

When the fossil record shows that organisms existed 350 million years ago (Burgess Shale fossils, discovered by Charles Walcott)
how can you possibly believe that the world is only 6000 years old?
Do you always take literally what you read in 2000 year old a book?

I'm not a scientist, though I am trained in scientific theory, logic, symbolic logic, critical thinking, and world religion.
Your use of the world logical is not valid in this case, you present no argument, thus have no case. Please repost with an actual argument if you wish anyone with any training to answer you. Please remember, a logical argument requires two or more points, and a conclussion that necesarily follows from the points (rather than being unrelated to them).

How is 6000 more logical?
Just cos the bible say's so?
Provide more evidence of why it's more logical please. Instead of assuming.
You already think you know the right answer, so don't bother asking any more questions like this.

Logical?
At least you spelled that word correctly, even if you aren't familiar with its meaning.
Sorry my language impaired friend, it is the 6,000 year Earth that is "poposturous"
