He doesn't? I think He must in some biblical references. They may not be defined to us directly,. but I perceive the commandments are moral standards.

In what way is moral goodness independent of God? Without God, there is no standard of moral goodness--everyone thinks and determines what is morally right in his or her own eyes. God clearly does define the standards of moral behavior.

That would be correct.
If you believe in an objective standard of morality, then you really have two options on what to believe:
1). Morality is whatever god says it is. That makes morality arbitrary, and the only reason god's arbitrary decisions are more binding than yours or mine is because god has the power to send you to heaven or hell.
2). Morality is not determined by god's whims. In this case, morality has nothing to do with god, so it's not necessary to have a god in order to differentiate between moral and immoral behavior.
Personally, I take the view that there is no objective standard of morality. However, that doesn't make our subjective standards any less consequential.

Moral goodness, if that's how you call it, is dependent of God. God is good. We can say something is good if it fits the standards of the good God.
What exactly are God's standards for good?
Romans 7:12;
Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Which law is this that Paul is talking about? Let's read his answer in Galatians 6:2
Bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.
If a statement, deed or thought does not conform with the law of Christ or Word of God, we cannot consider it good.

God has written His laws on every human heart; or, to use a more modern metaphor, God has hard-wired a moral sense into human DNA. That is why even people who don't believe in God have an inherent sense of right and wrong.
Of course in spirituality as well as in physical health, we do better when we understand what we are doing.

If moral goodness was independent of God then God wouldn't but you have it backwards. All evil is independent of God and all Good is independent of man without God's Empowerment. Romans 3 says by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in God's Sight. You must be Empowered by God to have any kind of standing before God.

That's a good question and a tough one. Who really knows the truth? But I will put goodness above god because I know that goodness exists, I feel it, you feel it, we all feel it. God has not been proven yet, at least not to me. Goodness has to be independent of god, if not then it would mean anything he asks would have to be right merely because he asked it. So he could ask us all to start killing children and because he is god, it would have to be right. First we see what is good then we judge whether it comes from god.

Wrong. The righteousness of God is the foundation of all morality for believers and unbelievers alike. Because without him it will be impossible to discern right from wrong!

There is no moral goodness apart from God
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9-10
