along time depends on how fat you are and what excercises you do. You also have to do a lot of running, sit ups, because the muscles are already there, you just need to take fat out so that they show and sit ups will make them cut

Maybe you don't need to lose weight but maybe you need to reduce your body fat to a level that allows your ab muscles to show. You seem like a smarty not wanting the truth but wanting the abs to just pop up at your will.

Rather than asking how long, why didn't you ask HOW? Regardless of how long it takes, GET STARTED TODAY.

And you might try to approach this as a lifelong journey, rather than a goal to achieve then let slip away. If you approach it as a lifelong journey, it will become part of your lifestyle and much more sustainable.

really depends on your body fat, metabolism and overall health. ask a trainer down at your local gym to do an assessment test on you. they basically test your physical conditions and based on that, tell you how long and how intense you have to exercise to get what you want. good luck :)
