I would be surprised and a bit hurt BUT the important thing is whose name, and what does he associate with that person. If he associates comfort and intamacy then great ... if he associates something negative then not so great! The big question is will he tell you honestly what he associates with that name?!
If you really have an instinct that this guy is cheating on you then be very cautious but I would give him a second chance. Get to know him better.

either way he's not romantically over her yet or it's just too soon. I made the mistake once of calling my boyfriend of (then) a month the name of a guy I'd recently dated for 3 years. it wasn't because I was thinking of him, it was just because for 3 years of my life that name was used in the context I accidentally used it in. it was more of a habit than anything else, but in retrospect, it was too soon for me to be dating and I could've seriously hurt his feelings (as I'm sure you're hurt). but thankfully the boyfriend forgave me (and we've been together 3 years now).
