i don't think you are the one doing something wrong. If he doesn't want to get involved in your relationship then why should you? You can try asking him why he is acting like this. Maybe he just isn't sure how to act in a relationship. If he's avoiding you and being so distant, is this actually a relationship?

It takes two to keep a relationship going in the right direction so if you've been holding it together without much help from him, you're in a dead-end relationship. Obviously, there is not much positive communication going on between the two of you and communication is extremely important. Try talking with him about your concerns even if it does cause him a little discomfort because you must consider your own feelings as well as his. You are his girlfriend, not his mother.

Relationships should not be so much work that you're stressed out about them all the time. Just tell him that & if he doesn't want to do anything to help you out then let him go- he's not worth it if it's a one sided relationship. There are MANY guys out there that would enjoy your company- don't stay with someone that for some reason may not.

Over the years I have found the best way to deal with guys like this is to let them have all the space they need.
Don't cling to him. He needs to have a little time to himself to make sure he really likes you, too.
When he realizes that you are being very casual and not clinging to him he will wonder what is going on. He will think that you don't like him anymore and want to find out why.
He will eventually come back to see how you really feel about him. If you keep things very casual and don't let him know how much you care he will try his best to win you back.
This is how girls actually "catch" a guy. They know the rules of the game. They let a guy chase them and think the guy does the catching, but it is the girls who are really in charge.
Just give him space and act like you don't really care. Go out with friends and wait for him to realize that you are not calling him and begging him to come back.

Every relationship takes work. There also needs to be communication by both parties. talk to him about his feelings. If he doesn't respond..perhaps it's time for a new boyfriend.
