Hello! I hope you can help me ;>

I'm looking for a recipe in which I can cook my Prime Ribs in a Crock Pot with some veggies (like potatoes, carrots, celery, etc.), but I do not like any type of "sweet" ingredients mixed in with meat (for instance, no marmalade, brown sugar, sweet sauces, etc.).

I have about 3 pounds of Prime Ribs and I've never cooked with a Crock Pot, but I'm just having these visions of the tender meat falling off the bone..

Got any good recipes?

Thanks!

What's wrong with the Crock Pot? Is there a better way to cook the ribs so that they fall-away as tender as I'd like?

I'm not sure if you're cooking a roast? Or Ribs?

For a roast, I use a package of Mrs Grass Onion Soup Mix, Salt & Pepper and garlic. You can add veggies to this if you want, but I find veggies with a roast in the crockpot can get really soft and turn to mush, so I tend to cook my veggies seperately. Cook on low all day (7-9 hours)

For Ribs, I use BBQ sauce, S&P, Garlic, Worstershire sauce, soy sauce. (cook on low 5-6 hours, until meat is tender and pulls away easily, but before it falls off the bone when you try to pick it up)

Once the ribs are cooked (right before they fall apart) I pull them out and put them on a broiling pan (the one that comes with your oven) and broil for a couple minutes with BBQ brushed all over them. That's only if you like your ribs a sticky mess.

Hope that helps!

Good luck

If you really want to do it, just make up the recipe as you go along as I do. Put the meat in the crock pot and all of the desired vegetables. Add beef and/or vegetable broth to cover meat and vegetables. Turn crock pot on high or low and add desired seasonings to taste. Let cook for 6-8 hours and test. I hope that this helps, it is what I do for my vegetable soups and roasts for my family. Good luck!!

Please do not make Prime Rib in the crock pot. I think the food police would show up at your house!
