What is the lifestyle like in Manhattan? Are people really as rude as some people say they are? Thanks.

Life is great in Manhattan. We can pretty much do whatever we want, whenever we want. We can shop at high-end stores, shop at bargain stores. Go to one of many public parks. See a concert. See a professional sporting event. Go to a top-notch restaurant... You get the picture.
Living in Manhattan is really great. Especially in the Fall and Winter! Manhattan is a very festive place, and it gets nice and cold here, which I like. Renting and buying in Manhattan is quite expensive, but it's worth every penny. Anything can and does happen here on a daily basis.

Fast and frazzeled. Time is money and money rules. Everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere now! If you've got the money travel by cab, else take public transit. Ditch your car, the traffic is lethal -- cabbies, delivery trucks and limos rule. Walking is ubiquitous-wear 'sensible' shoes and keep ur Manolos in a bag. There are old timers who will give you the time of day, they haven't been downtown in five years and would love to chat with someone-they haven't spoken their neighbors for more than 5 min in the past year, if they even know them.!. Then at the local bar the regulars will regard you as an invader! Only at the clubs do people let down their hair.

I'm from southern New Jersey and I head up to NYC from time to time.
There is something unique there I've never felt anywhere else. It's a kind of electricity in the air. I'm sure many of you have felt it!

its a melting pot of cultures and everything you want can be had here, the social scene is mostly bars and going out to eat,of course there are those who like to go to museums,concerts,plays opera, ballet.,rude well it depends are what you think rude is we manhattanites dont think we are rude when we tell you to go fk yourself!

sometimes really polite......sometimes really really rude.... fast paced.. lots of commuting... good food,
