Salam Alaykum,
I don't think that the Qur'an and evolution or elongated creation contradict eachother. The Qur'an never really rekects creationism or evoltuion; both can come from God. It has no mention of when or over what period of time Allah created the world. He could well have created it in an instant (like the Big Bang theory) and then creted life over millions of years. Thousands upon thousands of years seem like an hour to Allah. He is beyond time.
I personally believe that Allah created life over a long period of time through evolution. Then, as the animals were evolveing, he chose early man and gave him a full fledged soul and free will. I believe the first of these men with free will that was completely human was Adam.
That's only my personnal belief though. I do not put down creationists, though evidence seems to point out problems in their way of thinking.
Hope I helped.

In Christianity, there are different views. Many Christians believe that the Biblical story of creation is a parable about our spiritual relationship to God, and accept evolution as the scientific truth. Other Christians say this is wrong.
Both are true Christians, if they believe that Jesus was conceved by God, born of the virgin Mary, died to save us from our sins, and rose from the dead so that we can be raised also.
True Christians do not agree about everything, but we agree on the main tenets of our faith. Unfortunately, sometimes we forget the most important things and fight about what's less important.
I don't know Islam very well, but I know that Muslims don't agree on everything either.

I'm christian, and I believe in evolution. The two go hand in hand. That isn't to say we evolved from apes, that's ridiculous, but we have evolved and we continue to do so. Science cannot debunk God, there is no evidence which can say God does not exist. God created, and He created in a way in which we continue to evolve, we get taller with every generation and supposedly smarter. No matter what scientists discover, remember, everything has to have a beginning. Something doesn't come from nothing, and that big bang theory is most likely the most ludicrous concept of all. Really, a big bang from nothing created everything? The big bang is the only thing they could come up with to try to explain something that has no explanation, except for God.

Meditate on the Holy Bible, Genesis 1.
Elohim created the heavens and the earth... There are so many secrets in Genesis. Get yourself a Strongs Exhaustive, a dictionary of Hebrew & Greek words. Read a King James Bible. This chapter makes a lot of sense.
So the billions yrs old theories can be compared to the Bible Truth.

Hello, I'm Nathania, and Christian.
In Christian, faith means the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Everything in this world and the meaning by faith is written in the Bible.
But it's depend on you and your heart.
if you decided to be a Muslim, so be a good Muslim.
besides the Bible, lets see the fact.
People can't make any human with different characteristic (it's only clone or robots).. People can't make any huge disaster.. and People can't make this earth..
People can't make something like Jesus do.. or my Lord..
I know how is your feelings. Because, I was had it. But, then I realized, that my Lord is Wonderful, strong, nice, and loves me always. However I always hate Him, or lie, or do things that He doesn't like, he always loves me.. He stand besides me, and pick me up when I'm down.. And I believe He loves you too..
My suggestion is: just know, and believe your heart. Pray and fresh your mind.
If you still confused, you may ask me with send me e-mail..

my belief is that it is us, human beings that have to make up reasons and answers for where we came from and why we are here. The thought of creation baffles our minds because we don't understand it. We live in a world with cause and effect. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. We have to have answers. But the idea of creation is something we cant understand wholy. It is beyond our comprehension. Sometimes you just have to take things for what they are and that when we pass on, only then will we get the true answers to what we are looking for.

u cannot believe in evolution and reconcile this with scripture. (there are some Christians who believe in evolution, but they are mistaken in this) it is in no way scriptural, as 4 evolution to occur, things must die. there was no death untill Adam and Eve sinned.
'The ... most significant point is where evolution cuts to the heart of the gospel. Evolution absolutely requires death … millions of years of it, struggle for existence, survival of the fittest millions of years before man comes on the scene. In this scenario, death is not the enemy but the very means by which God created everything. But the Bible is very clear about this: the wages of sin is death. Death came into the world through Adam's sin. Therefore there was no death prior to the fall of man and therefore there could be no evolution whatsoever before that time.'

I dont see why you can't a muslim and believe in evolution.
As a Christian, if I didn't believe in Creation (which I do) then I wouldn't be a real Christian.

well by believing in evolution you are denying what God has said in his word. so in a sence you are being hyocritic saying you believe in God but only certain parts of what he says. You cannot just accept part of him, he is all or none.
