I am a daily 4 mile runner in Chicago. I don't want to give up outdoor running for the fall/winter. I have Raynaud's Disease which affects my fingers. It is extremely painful. I like gloves so I can work with music player, but fingers go numb. Mittens are bulky, can't work music player and fingers still go numb. PLEASE give me ideas and tips and products to use so I can keep running outdoors!

I have this as well. More so in one hand than in the other and I am also a runner (7miles a day) /bodybuilder. Its so painful and I cannot withstand cold weather for more than 5 minutes without gloves on.

As odd as it sounds I put on finger cots (they look like miniature condoms lol) or just try putting on rubber gloves under neath your gloves.

Hope this helps and good luck .................I feel your pain :(

I do not suffer from this painful condition myself, but know several runners who do as I sold sportshoes for many years. A lot of people have used a warming product, such as Tiger Balm under a pair of thin cotton gloves and then they put their gloves over that. People have also had luck using the Hot Hands product that is actually produced for hunters and fishermen and you place these inside your gloves and they will keep your hands warm and comfortable. A lot of people with different types of circulatory problems can improve their circulation by adding hot pepper and ginger to their diet and or vitamin regiment. There are also mittens available in the hunting department that have a "flip-top" mitten ending and when you flip off the top there are glove-like fingers inside which are finger-tip less for mobility; this is for extreme cold weather hunting and allows mobility and warmth. I am not a hunter, but know many people who are, and have learned about all these products over the years. There are also battery operated warming gloves and glove liners. If you do not have a hunting supply store near you, LL Bean and Cabelas would be good Internet sites to check. Good luck and happy running.!

There is a med to help circulation and lesson the effects of raynauds called nifferedipine (not sure of the spelling)-- but it has helped me (I don't run though).
