1. In the book Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli, we encounter some very intruiging characters. Stargirl, or Susan, is the non-conformist protagonist, with a mind and nature of her own. Leo is the wary high school student, walking on eggshells to avoid teasing and isolation. Stargirl doesn't notice the reaction of her classmates, who believe her to be too "outside the lines", too dreamy and happy go lucky. When Leo begins to date her, however, he notices the insightful and wonderful spirit she has, full of courage and love. However, certain events conspire to draw him away from her, and Leo tries to change the person he grew to love, and make her "normal." His desire to fit in overcomes his affection for his former girlfriend, and peer pressure breaks them apart.
2. Stargirl is about a young boy named Leo, and his encounter with a girl who calls herself Stargirl. Stargirl walks outside the lines...she dresses oddly, sings songs, and is a compliant and generous person. She is hated for this, however, but never seems to notice. In spite of this, however, Leo falls in love with her, and his short-termed relationship with this entrancing character brings him to a world he never imagined, full of heartbreak, isolation, and love.
3. The setting of this book is in ___________ (I forgot the name of the school), a typical secondary school full of conformist students and a multitude of cliques.
4. You have to answer this question; I don't know what you liked best. But I liked the beginning, for it's significance of what was to come.
5. I strongly recommend this book, and again cannot answer this question for you (see above.)

You will find out the answers to all these questions by reading the book! It is a great book and not too difficult, give it a try.
If you don't have the time or inclination, try your local library. This book was recorded as a "Book on Tape" by John Ritter and is not too taxing to listen to!
