People seem to attract others who are as emotionally unhealthy as themselves. So, I would say that being happy and not bitter is a good way to keep from attracting those kind of men.

Don't go to bars for one thing.Avoid FL, because there's tons of drunks, losers , players and bars there. Not a good place... Drunks are a drag and have tons of baggage like x wives, x jobs, and x girlfriends.Find men that are out doing productive things with their time other than whining and complaining.A lot of women meet men at church or other religious gatherings.I have found that different parts of the country as well as different parts of large metropolitian areas will have certain kinds of people. People are attracted to places that they feel comfortable in.Be willing to explore new areas near the area that you live in..The midwest has lots of nice men as well as smaller towns near larger cities. Learn to let things go and by that I mean if you meet someone and things don't feel right to you stop seeing them, move on quickly. Don't waste time wondering or hoping that someone will change. Just move on. It's a BIG world out there if you're willing to stay open mentally, use your intuition and maintain respect for yourself you'll increase your chances of meeting someone thats right for you.Don't settle for less because you're worth more than that. Good luck.

Meet them at a class or the gym or a club - something they have to have actively sought out themselves. Men like that usually are more ambitious and upbeat - and therefore looking for the same.

Just by being happy yourself. That old saying about opposites attract really doesn't work.
