Yes. I had a great uncle who fought with the 6th Georgia Infantry and was present at a number of major battles including Sharpsburg/Antietam where he was wounded. I believe I may have also had another uncle who was killed at Gettysburg.

Yup...and on both sides too!
One of my ancestors was actually the last casualty of the war in our area of the country.
An ancestor with the firs name of Washington fought for the North, and an ancestor with the first name of Washington fought for the south.
In all we have accounted for almost a dozen ancestors that fought in this war.
