Prayer

2006-10-14 05:23:36 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 4 1

Ask God, not us - we as humans are all going to give you different answers. You know that... Since He's God, he should know the closest path to Him.
The beginning of the book of James says if you ask for wisdom with a sincere heart, you will receive it. If you ask what God wants you to do, He'll tell you - just make sure you really expect an answer :)
Good luck

No path is closer to God, there are only direct and less-direct paths.

The less direct is judaism, you have to do too much things to get to God, a lot of which I think don't have anything to do with spirituality.

Then goes christianity, its more direct, and has more spiritual steps, but they all take too much time to do, almost an entire lifetime.

Islam is by far the most direct. In Islam there are no intermedaries between you and God. Everything happens at once, you don't have to have certain age to do steps that get you closer to God. Everything that the holy Qur'an says can be applied in present time. That's why I am Muslim.

May God bless you in your path.

Heart felt prayer. God is "the hearer of prayer". No one else. No man, saint or statue. Just God himself.

Jesus, God's Son, taught us how to pray by giving us the model prayer, know as "The Lords Prayer" or the "Our Father" prayer. It give us a pattern to follow. Jesus also noted that "no one comes to the Father except through Me" So with that in mind, we give recognition in Jesus's name, of the sacrfice that Jesus made to become mankinds redeemer.

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." This statement seems narrow on the surface but is in fact very broad. ANYONE can come - it is inclusive. And anyone who comes to Him He will in no way cast out.

Accept Jesus for who He said He is and come to the Father through Him. It's not His will that any perish but that all come to everlasting life.

don't drink (Acohol) and have a personal relation to God. Humanity is the principle. Do whatever is good for others as well as yourself. And that will lead you to God.

Lola L,
Close ain't good enough! You either get to Him or you don't. Faith in God through Christ is the only way. That's the truth, sealed, double-stamped and sent.
