Lets not be too hasty. Don't become over dependent on any one source of help cause if that source disappears then you might be in trouble. So if you don't want to go to your shrink as often then still go but less regularly if you feel ok. My advice however is to still see your shrink

EVERYONE needs someone they can cuss and discuss with, Tamino. I can see that you would prefer Yahoo Answers as Shrinks are not know for giving answers, but rather steering you to find your own answers from your visits with them. This can be frustrating and very time and money consuming. However, answers here can give you different aspects to discuss with the shrink. Tell him (her) that you desire MORE feedback, and less unanswered sessions. All the best to you from this side of the spectrum.

Congrats! Glad you are feeling better. But, hey, talk it over with your shrink a couple times and with real people in your life. Then see how you feel and make your decision. This is cyberspace and real people who really know you are much better to use in making real and important decisions.

Yahoo answers is great and a community of friends, even online friends, can supplement therapy and help you feel less alone. It can give you a feeling of being part of the world and wider community. But it's not a substitute for professional guidance.
Please stay with your professional. If that person is not proving helpful to you, maybe you need to shop around for a different therapist.

Depends on what is wrong with you. We here are not doctors, well I imagine most of us aren't. If what is bothering you is serious then continue with professional help. But stick around here too, a lot of people want to be helpful.

well...a shrink isn't always the answer i guess...sometimes things aren't serious enough that you need to go into therapy about them, just talking them out and seeking advice can do the trick...so congrats and good luck!!

Does that mean you are taking the advice of people on the internet over a trained physician? I certainly hope not.
