What is the root cause of difference between peoples of different religions?

Lack of understanding. what we do not understand we fear,fear turns to anger.anger turns to hate then we try to destroy what we hate. THIS facit of duality is there to promote the need for spiritual awareness. when GODS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE IS PRESENT,FEAR ANGER AND HATE DISAPPEAR. When people kill in the name of GOD they LIE.THEY are decieved,they work for other than GOD.

My dear brother [sorry if I.m wrong], it is a MYTH.

There are basically no differences in the teachings of any religion.

The root cause of differences is its followers.

The Christians think it is thier religion only which is true, the Jews believe the same,the hindus claim to be the best and Muslims are not behind.

But Bible, Quran, Torah, Bhagwat Geeta etc dont preach hatered or violance.[ I can see few people laughing since I have kept Quran also with other books-, some will say it is guilty feeling. OK let this also be discussed analytically, philosophically, spiritually and scientifically, but through another question]

Since my religion is pretty radically different from the western ones, I can say that the things that separate Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, are small, and trivial. The eastern religions, on the other hand, are very different in their teachings. Buddhism, my religion, is alike to hinduism and taoism in a few ways but is mostly very unique. The root cause in western religions are probably silly things like whether Jesus was the son of god or not, while in eastern religions it is usually the great differences between the teachings...

Every one has the right to choose which way one wants to pray to the Lord Most religions I know say there is one God Which is the Truth. Think in terms of a very large hockey field. Now think that at each corner of that rectangle field is a man of Christian,
One is Hindu the other Buddhist and one is Muslim. Each says they know the path to God and each professes that they alone are right. As they advance to the Center, hypothetically where God is. They come to realise that every one who strives knows the path. So if we all respect each others beliefs and let every one practice as they wish then our society would become more tolerant of other religions.
